Quality Control Inspector

Overview:

This position works to ensure the quality of manufactured products through inspections of incoming components, in process manufacturing and finished goods. This position requires attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Sample and inspect incoming components against documented standards
  • Perform in process line audits to ensure manufactured product meets all quality standards and production has all required documentation filled out completely and accurately
  • Pull all required retains from production during the in process inspection
  • Perform inspections on finished goods as well as any reworked or sorted product as required to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ensure that all inspection paperwork is filled out completely and accurately
  • Report all results on inspection form.
  • Properly label all inspected material as appropriate.
  • Assist in training and coaching of production personnel.
  • Report any deviations from standards to QA/QC Group Lead.
  • Participate in pilot candle runs.
  • Maintain good safety practices.
  • Ensure that all safe working procedures are followed and observed.
  • Pull all company retains, safety burn samples, and any retains required by the Account Managers.
  • Maintain, file, and archive production paperwork and retains.
  • Place product on hold.
  • Assist production with any rework.
  • Report any deviations from standards to QA/QC Group Lead.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, compounding batch sheets, etc.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of basic database software, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to hear, speak, and use hands for fine manipulation.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, carry, push, and/or walk.
  • The employee must be able to work in a highly fragranced environment.
  • This role operates in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate.


Shift:

Monday – Thursday, 3:00pm - 1:30am (Overtime on Fridays, June to November)


Pay Rate:

$17.25/hour

 

Education Required: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
